ServeXchange operates on a distributed rate aggregation system that pulls exchange data from 12 institutional sources every 60 seconds. The app processes over 23,000 currency pair combinations through a proprietary normalization algorithm that accounts for bid-ask spreads and cross-rate calculations. When you select a base currency, the engine recalculates all dependent pairs using the mid-market rate formula to ensure accuracy within 0.02% of interbank rates.

The notification system employs threshold monitoring with customizable trigger points. Set percentage-based alerts for any currency pair and the background service checks rate movements against your parameters every refresh cycle. When a threshold is crossed, the push notification fires with the exact rate, timestamp, and percentage change. This system operates independently of the app state, meaning alerts work even when ServeXchange is closed or your device is locked.

Offline functionality relies on intelligent caching that stores the last 500 rate snapshots locally in encrypted SQLite format. Historical chart rendering uses vector-based drawing that generates candlestick patterns from cached data points without requiring server connection. The sync engine automatically reconciles local cache with live data when connectivity returns, filling any gaps in your historical timeline. This architecture ensures you can review trends and check last-known rates even in airplane mode or areas with poor network coverage.
